Food Drive

Both Campuses

February 7th - 28th

COVID 19 has put all our lives in a tailspin.   Unemployment, quarantine and illness have families in our community struggling to find the necessities of everyday life.  In Buncombe County, the Family Resource Center is a location where families in our area can find many of these necessities. The center provides weekly food boxes, fresh produce, and basic needs such as: diapers, formula, wipes, feminine products, shampoo, soap, deodorant, laundry detergent, funding for laundry mat, toilet paper, paper towels, household cleaning supplies, and school supplies. Currently we are serving over 600 families and students each month.

In both Madison & Yancey Counties, the school social workers and counselors work closely to provide families and students in need as well.  They are currently serving over 400 families and students each month.

For the month of February, we are collecting the following food items which are the most needed items that will make a difference in the lives of these students and families:

  1. Single Serve Items- Mac-n-Cheese, Beanie Weenies, Ramen Noodles, Ravioli (all pop top cans)

  2. Peanut Butter and Jelly (small jars)

  3. Individual Snacks- Crackers, Chips, Cookies and Granola Bars

  4. Breakfast Items- Poptarts, Cereal, Grits and Oatmeal

  5. Canned Vegetables and Canned Fruits (pop top cans)

The food drive begins Sunday, February 7th – Sunday, February 28th.
