Job Description
The receptionist serves as the first point of contact for the church and will provide administrative support across the organization. He or she will handle the flow of people through the church and ensure that all administration tasks are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner.
Reports To
This position answers to the Guest Services Director, the Executive Pastor, and the Senior Pastor.

Be a member in good standing of Brookstone Church.
Promote a positive, ministry-minded, and healthy environment as a team player with pastors and staff as well as church leaders, members, guests, and the community at large.
Possess a servant attitude and desire to serve the Lord through the local church.
Relate well with all people in attitude and appearance.
Be proficient in planning, organizing, and handling multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently with the ability to give attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining a professional, courteous manner.
Exercise good judgment and positively influence others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency.
Exhibit a high degree of integrity and strictly protect confidential information.
Possess a thorough knowledge of the church by-laws, policies, procedures, and general church practices.
Possess the skills necessary to perform the functions of the job and the show the capacity to learn additional skills which the job may require.
Expectations and Job Duties
Be a warm, inviting and efficient first impression to visitors to the office.
Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, directing and announcing them appropriately.
Answer, screen and forward any incoming phone calls while providing basic information when needed. Check the answering machine daily and route any messages to appropriate staff.
Check email and respond appropriately.
Receive and sort daily mail/deliveries/couriers along with placing calls for pick-up by Fed Ex or UPS as needed.
Prepare coffee service for office staff and guests as needed.
Clean out items that need to be tossed from staff refrigerator each Thursday afternoon.
Maintain security by following procedures and controlling access.
Perform other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, collating, assisting with mailings, etc.
Maintain an office/break-room supply ordering list and order office and break room supplies when necessary.
Assist the graphics director in the ordering of paper/printer supplies needed.
Assist the graphics director in printing/folding/organizing printed materials.
Place phone calls for support issues with copiers, phones, etc…
Maintain an organized and welcoming office area. The reception area is literally the “first impression” someone may have about our church.
Use Planning Center to schedule room and resources for events held on campus.

Maintain a vital and growing relationship with the Lord through consistent time in the Word and prayer.

Strive to maintain and protect biblical priorities in the home.

Requirements
Proven working experience in similar roles
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Sheets, Google Docs.
Willingness to learn other software required: Realm, Planning Center, Asana, etc…
Professional appearance and welcoming demeanor/attitude
Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
Proficient with all social media to help promote/update church events.
Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure
High school degree
