LIFT provides a short-term small group environment where individuals invest a season of their life to learning insights and skills that allow them to more fully participate in community. In addition, LIFT provides a safe environment where individuals can find community to help overcome a particular life-dominating struggle of sin or suffering. LIFT classes and workshops are not meant to be long-term substitutes for discipleship. Instead, LIFT seeks to help deal with immediate needs, with the goal of directing everyone to Lifegroup participation.

LIFT classes and workshops will offer support for those needing encouragement and support during a period of suffering or hardship, hope for those struggling with life-dominating sins, education for those needing information or resources about a specific life issue, and a place to process or counsel for those needing to deal with problematic emotions or life stressors.

Below are some classes we offer:

Wednesdays at 6:30PM – 8:00PM

Building Kingdom Marriages

In American culture, the view and value of marriage has been on the decline for decades. Most Americans now look at relational partnership from a strongly humanistic and self-centered point of view: "Is this relationship going to help me get what I want in life?" For this reason, even the best of marriages often have a short-term and personally gratifying focus, and, in many cases, people are choosing not to marry at all because things change - people change. For those who are in Christ, however, the Bible demonstrates a much higher view of marriage as the first and primary vehicle for expressing God’s kingdom and accomplishing God’s mission on earth. Participants in this class will gain a stronger vision of their marriage as a distinctly powerful and important expression of God’s kingdom to the world around them and find tools to help them keep a proper focus on God’s purposes for their marriage.

Parenting by Gospel Principles

This class presents students with a big-picture view of God’s plan for parents. We will explore fourteen foundational principles centered on the gospel, as well as the rescuing grace of God that has the power to shape how we view everything we do as parents. We will learn to be free from the burden of trying to manufacture life-change in our children’s hearts, and instead, embrace a grand perspective of parenting overflowing with vision, purpose, and joy.

Becoming Men of Integrity

Pornography may seem inescapable, but God can free us from its destructive power. The gospel replaces the dehumanizing lies of pornography with this surprising truth: God created us as royalty. How then can we reclaim our God-given identity to take a stand against―and ultimately starve―the predatory porn industry? In this class, students will explore six personal letters written by Ray Ortlund, as from a father to his son. God, through these letters, can give hope to men who have been misled by porn into devaluing themselves and others.

Jesus: Gentle and Lowly

Christians can easily feel that Jesus is perpetually disappointed and frustrated, maybe even close to giving up on them. They know what Christ has done for them―but who is he? How does he feel about his people amid all their sins and failures? In Matthew 11, Jesus describes himself as “gentle and lowly in heart,” longing for his people to find rest in him. In this class, you will dive deep into Bible passages that speak of Christ’s affections for sinners and be encouraged as you journey, weary and faltering, toward heaven.

No Children’s ministry or childcare will be offered.

The 7 Churches of Revelation

The 7  letters to the 7 churches are report cards by Jesus with 7 elements each.

There are also 4 different purposes or levels of the 7 letters.

First, there are 7 real local churches to be addressed.

Secondly, the writing goes to all churches, because the Holy Spirit talks to churches (plural, 2:7)

Thirdly, the writing goes to all believers, to all those who have a “spiritual ear”.

Fourthly, the 7 letters are prophetic, as they lay out the entire church history in advance.

Come and learn and  enjoy an exciting study!
